And now, for the first time, Walker Books are publishing the complete graphic novel in a special giftbound edition, perfect for a dark Halloween Night.
The story of Salem Brownstone, is a true gothic tale, one which climbs into your mind and takes up residence there, seeking out the shadowy corners to fester in. The book's gripping and haunting story, stunning illustrations and bizarre and unique characters make this the perfect book to completely immerse yourself in.
Salem Brownstone is a man living a normal life running his laundromat business, who has everything he's ever known turned on its head by a mysterious telegram from a woman he does not know. The telegram informs him that his Father, who he has been estranged from since the age of six, has died, and left everything to him.
And so, as Salem turns the key in the front door of his Father's gothic mansion, he has no idea that he is about to be thrown head first into a dangerous world of monsters, magic and terror.
For, beyond inheriting his Father's house and possessions, Salem has unwittingly inherited his Father's job and the responsibility that goes with it: namely, saving all of humanity from the evil spirits.
Salem Brownstone: All Along the Watchtowers is beautifully bound in purple fabric and absolutely bursting with fantastic creatures, characters and ideas. The reader is introduced to the troupe working for Dr Kinoshita's Circus of Unearthly Delights as well as a whole host of creepy and sinister creatures from the Midnight City.
The book is written by John Harris Dunning and illustrated by Nikhil Singh. John has written for many newspapers and magazines, and Salem Brownstone is his first graphic novel. Nikhil's artwork has appeared in top magazines and anthologies, and he also performs with his post-punk band, Hi Spider.
