Noctimania Gothic Clothing

Noctimania Gothic Clothing is a young UK-based company offering a unique, eye-catching and diverse range of clothing designed and made in-house.

The Noctimania range is the brain-child of designer Becky Parker, and was born out of a frustration at the lack of gothic clothing options for plus-size women. Mass-produced gothic brands offer very little to anyone over a size 14, and Becky saw this flaw in the clothing market as her perfect opportunity to carve her own niche in it.

She saw the existing gothic clothing market as leaving just two options plus-size goths:

1 - to spend large amounts of money on made to measure clothing

2 - to settle for low quality, poorly constructed, badly fitting garments

It was this discovery that set Becky about making a small number of garments designed specifically to flatter the figures of women from size 10 - 26, rather than simply designing for slimmer figures and then enlarging the design for plus-size.

The inspiration for the Noctimania Clothing range comes from a combination of traditional and modern gothic styles, the Harajuku scene, lolita and LA punk. The unorthodox mix of influences allows designer Becky to create a unique and wide ranging catalogue of items to suit all gothic tastes.

In order to maintain high standards, Noctimania clothes are constructed from only the highest quality fabrics, such as 100% pure silk, luxurious bridal satin and high grade taffeta. It is an area that Becky refuses to compromise on.

Noctimania are looking forward to some exciting additions to their range in the future. Due to popular demand from Noctimania's clothing, Becky is currently working on a range of hand-crafted steel boned corsets which will become available on their site later this year. Noctimania were kind enough to give EGL Magazine a sneak preview of one of the new corset designs: the Zipline Corset.

Beyond this, Becky is also working on perfecting an extensive new range of garments which venture into utilising new techniques and materials. So make sure you're kept up to date by visitng the Noctimania site and joining their mailing list.
