Miss Mischief is an alternative and fetish model from Massachusetts, America and we managed to capture her for a quick interview.
How did you get involved in modeling?
A photographer had asked me to do a few photos for his portfolio.. after that I was hooked!
Why does alternative/fetish modeling appeal to you in particular?
I have a unique personality and way I live my life. I don't really fit into a particular category, so most of what I do is alternative.. it allows me to be extremely creative, which is the No 1 thing that I strive for in all of my images.
If you're a small girl because of nature, rock it out! If you have curves (like me) you have to rock those. Curves are great (and p.s. men like curves!) Making yourself thinner because someone thinks you should is ridiculous. Be you!
Fashion makeover shows promote the idea that changing your wardrobe can change your life. How important do you believe fashion is in moulding personalities?
I think if you're comfy in sweatpants, then wear sweatpants. If you like ripped jeans and a wife beater, go with it! You'll eventually revert back to the person that you "really" are once the shine wears off. I think if you feel sexy, you'll look sexy.
What are your career plans for the future?
Well, I hope to continue to model for some of the greatest designers ever (MTCoffinz, Berit New York, ArtWith Latex and soon Axis Casterboarding), continue to rock out at fashion shows, go-go dancing and hopefully catch a few more publications! I hope to continue to get crazy and interesting opportunities!
The best thing is the creativity (and of course the badass wardrobe that I get to wear) I've been lucky enough to work with SMP Photography who challenges my creativity every time I work with him. The worst is probably flakes.. being shady and canceling multiple times is a little annoying, but part of the business.
What's the best piece of advice that you could give to a hopeful model?
Stay true to yourself and always have fun. If you're not having fun and you're doing things that you don't really want to do, you might as well not do it at all!
What's your view of reality shows such as 'America's Next Top Model' or 'Make Me a Supermodel'?
I've only watched ANTM a few times when it first aired.. I know that the high fashion industry is quite different from the alternative industry. Photographers don't normally tell us to lose weight or that we suck. HA! This is way more fun!
